I think that ranking number one these days, is more about market share and visibility than just ranking number one for an industry term. Good SEO means forgetting SEO and concentrating on your user then. And it also means forgetting SEO in that you are going to be trying to merge your different marketing strategies in order to create one bigger approach. It means trying to write amazing posts and share them on SEO so that you get more links and it means writing great content that keeps people on your page longer. The goal shouldn’t be to generate links, it should be to generate buzz or discussion; to share knowledge or data or other insights that we know our audiences (and prospecive customers) will find valauble.
